Dahlia 'Purple Gem' supplied as a tuber. Plant it horizontally about 12 cm deep in a sunny position and water well for the first few weeks. Remember to allow enough room between each plant so the dahlia can grow and spread to its full size without being over-crowded. Tubers can be lifted and stored in a shed in winter, they can also be divided, provided each division has a viable bud. In milder parts of the UK you can leave them in the ground. They will frequently survive to the next year, for a bigger and brighter display. You can buy two, three or five tubers with this order.
