Asparagus is a perfect perennial vegetable to grow on an allotment, getting more productive the older it gets. It can be successfully grown as a second crop between apple trees, as seen here in the video. We supply the root crowns when they are three years old to plant yourself and we recommend not to crop it for the first year to allow the plants to establish. Simply dig a hole or furrow 20 cm deep, place the crowns in the hole, spaced about 30 cm apart then cover with soil and water well. You can order one, two, three, five or ten crowns with this order.
